THE EVER WONDERING STAR
Through the rainbow salt and the groveling rocks
I’ll hold you for who you are
Under the shade of sun that blinds, the crowd that mocks
I’ll crave the ever wandering star
The road to the highest mountain I’ll climb
And pluck the richest seed
They say it’s too majestic, twisted, too divine
Upon hearing that never did I recede
Call me broken, call me deranged,
call this a temporary farce
How could you know, little bitter one
The taste of a love full of heart?
Settle, you would, for the things you can dominate
How easy is it a task?
When you look upon the others reap their beloved fate
That don’t fit into your agenda
Lest you leave the rest alone
Would you never have a moment’s peace
Your words sharp as carved stone
No longer bother my fulfilled self in the least
The narrowed eyebrows we see in the street
The wicked appellations whispered into backs of hands
Are no more than a rustling of a bird’s feathers, a sheep’s bleat
When you’re deep in the throes of your own romance
I tell you, O hurtful ones
Let the world roam free
A banderole, a word doesn’t define us
We’re all a part of thee
If life is fortunate to give you
The gift to love without fear
Take it, you little fools
Hold the ones you desire near
