Youth Speak Forum 2023
Empowering the Next Generation: AIESEC Brings Youth Speak Forum 2023
AIESEC is thrilled to announce the Youth Speak Forum, a landmark event that will bring together school students, undergraduates, postgraduates and youth aged 18 to 30 years of age from across Sri Lanka to learn how they can contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals through thought-provoking panel discussions and interactive workshops that will educate and spark interest in the youth on the SDGs. The event will take place on the 17th of February at the Trace Expert City, from 9am to 2pm. This year’s
Youth Speak Forum will provide a platform to educate the youth on the SDGs 5 – ‘Gender
Equality’ and 9 – ‘Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure’.
The SDGs are imperative to achieve stability in our community and economy by supporting innovative reforms whilst minimizing adverse effects on vulnerable groups in Sri Lanka. Gender inequalities can be observed in political representation and labour force participation and poverty pockets exist throughout Sri Lanka and discrepancies can be observed among districts.
An exceptional lineup of dynamic speakers, including Aritha Wickramasinghe, lawyer and advocate for equality for the LGBTQ+ community, women, minorities and other reputed corporate personalities will participate as keynote speakers and panelists at the Youth Speak Forum 2023.
“Youth Speak Forum is a great platform where Sri Lankan youth get to voice their thoughts on the matters regarding SDGs. With my experience in previous YSF events, I definitely recommend joining YSF 2023 for an insightful and life changing experience.”, said Tharindu Pilapitiya, a former delegate of Youth Speak Forum.
“We’re thrilled to bring together the youth of Sri Lanka to share their ideas, to collaborate, and find out how to achieve Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 9. The YouthSpeak Forum is more than just an event – it’s a movement that will inspire young people to lead with purpose and to create a better tomorrow.”, said Dileesha
Hettiarachchi, the Organizing Committee President for YSF 2023.
The YouthSpeak Forum is open to young individuals aged 18 to 30 years of age across
Sri Lanka. To register for the event please visit http://aiesec.lk/ysf2023-registration .
