PLANNING ON WATCHING ANIME?

There are a lot of anime being produced and released all over the world , all the time . Anime is like kottu minus the stomach problems , you will have your favorite anime out there and you will cherish it. Don’t get me wrong there are terrible anime out there and it could cloud your overall impression and prevent you from enjoying the joyous world of anime , but that’s hopefully where this guide comes in .

  • Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter   is set in a world where hunters undergo dangerous and life-threatening tasks to capture criminals and go in search of treasures in unknown lands. Gon Freecss has set his mind to be the best hunter in the world , in order to do that he has to pass the Hunter exam which is notorious for its low acceptance rate and extremely high risk of dying.

Along the way to becoming an official Hunter, Gon befriends the lively doctor-in-training Leorio, vengeful Kurapika, and rebellious ex-assassin Killua.Together they will meet a plethora of monsters, creatures, and characters—all with very cool backstories.

  1. One Punch Man

It’s just like the title suggests , this anime is about a man with few words and even fewer pun-ches ( pun intented). The story follows Saitama and his very mediocre life. From a distance nothing about Saitama could interest another individual to know more about him, but with a closer look you learn that Saitama is the most powerful person ever to live on the planet. He could absolutely obliterate anyone with just one punch , that’s all it takes. Unfortunately for him , he is no longer able to enjoy the thrill/adrenaline of battling and has become bored of his strength.

His story begins when his disciple , Genos , suggests that they join a Hero Association in order to be certified heroes and hopefully build his popularity in the process. One Punch man is a great anime if action and comedy starring a bald man is your forte with no heavy plot .

  1. Haikyuu!

Shouyou Hinata revives his middle school volleyball  team after being inspired by watching a volleyball ace nicknamed “Little Giant” in action. The new team however soon finds their first match turns out to be their last when they are brutally defeated by Tobio Kageyama. Hinata vows to himself to surpass Kageyama, and so after graduating from middle school, he joins Karasuno High School’s volleyball team—only to find that his sworn rival, Kageyama, is now his teammate.Haikyuu!! is an emotional sports comedy following two determined athletes as they attempt to make their high school volleyball team the best in Japan.

4.Jujutsu Kaisen

We are introduced to a high schooler by the name Yuuji Itadori , who spends his time in the club room of the Occult club of his school or the hospital to visit his quite obviously very sick grandfather. However this is soon interrupted when Itadori comes across a very dangerous cursed item and a very peculiar stranger who tries to protect Itadori and retrieve the cursed item. Soon Itadori is forced to learn about  a world he had never experienced before or yet he thought existed… the world of a Jujutsu sorcerer.

5.Kimi no Na wa ( Your Name)

This is a bit different from the other recommendations. For starters this falls under the romantic genre and it’s a film so there’s no long-term commitment , great for people who want to be loved but are afraid of commitment.

Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school girl living in the rural town of Itomori who wakes up one day in Taki Tachibana’s body. Taki is a high school student who lives in Tokyo and like Mitsuha , he too wakes up to find himself in Mitsuha’s body. So it’s two complete different strangers waking up in each other’s bodies and living thousands of miles away from each other. Even if you don’t enjoy romance , Kimi no Na Wa has some of the most amazing animations I’ve ever seen and some of the best soundtracks ever ! It’s a great movie to start your journey in Anime.

6.Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

If Alchemy and wanting to bring your mother back to life from the dead is your thing , ladies and gentlemen ,Fullmetal Alchemist is your anime. The two young brothers Edward and Alphonse Eric are two budding alchemists when they attempt to do the one act that is forbidden in alchemy , human transmutation. Since actions have consequences , at the cost of  their failed attempt of trying to bring back the dead to life Edward loses his left leg and Alphonse , his entire body. Edward then sacrifices his right arm to bind his brother’s soul to a suit of armour. They soon find hope when they come to know the existence of the Philosopher’s stone that would help them negate the basic law alchemy works on , the law of Equivalent Exchange.

7.Death Note

So Death Note focuses on 2 things …death and a notebook. In the story , gods of death , or Shinigami, can kill any person they want , as long as they have  the victim’s face and write the victim’s name in a notebook called the Death Note . Light Yagami , a high schooler ,accidentally comes across a said Death Note and now takes upon himself to serve justice, to create a world with no crime, to kill all criminals. With an actual shinigami that has an apple addiction , a father who governs the police and a Sherlock Holmes wannabe who goes by the name “L”,by his shoulder, we watch Light make decisions to choose between life or death with just a flick of a pen away.

  1. One Piece

Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy who defies your standard definition of a pirate, some might call him delusional. Following in the footsteps of his childhood hero, Luffy and his crew travel across the Grand Line, experiencing crazy adventures, unveiling dark mysteries and battling strong enemies, all in order to reach the most coveted of all fortunes—One Piece.

  1. Naruto

I’m sure that you’ve heard the name “Naruto” atleast once in your life. You have actually lived under a rock if you haven’t heard of Naruto. At Naruto’s birth, a huge demon-fox known as the Nine-Tailed Fox, attacked the Hidden Leaf Village. In order to put an end to the beast’s rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto. He struggles to find his place in the village because he is bullied by the villagers for the beast inside, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of village leads him not only to some great friends, but also some equally terrifying enemies.
