DEAR GENERATION NEXT,

I tried to pull my thoughts together,

And write a letter.

About the world as it is.

Just to let them know, what it would have been if……

Dear Generation Next,

We lost you the battle to preserve humanity,

We lost the battle to protect our forestry,

We lost you the battle to prevent extinction,

We lost you the battle to save our ocean,

We lost you the freedom of breathing in fresh air.

Please forgive us, for the battle wasn’t fair.

It was just a few of us against the world.

Just-a-few-of-us-against-the-world.

Only a few of us who, yearned and requested,

Only a few of us who, pleaded and protested.

It was only some of us who wanted to make a change,

It was only some of us, that wanted the world to flip another page.

What did the rest do you ask?

**Sigh**

Well, some danced in front of screens and lip-synced to tunes for entertainment,

Others, were part of social movements for spotlight attainment.

Gen Z found everything so offensive,

Literally whatever, daddy chill, we stan. PERIOD! Were extensive

Women and Men fought for their rights,

Yes, they fought in separate, to earn-equal-rights.

People shared all the dope content and celebrity flings,

And that the fight to make abortion legal, was a thing.

People of color, people of size, people of abnormality were looked down on,

Only to admire the beauty of a filtered face that’s been worked on.

Yes, I know we lived in toxic world,

Toxic people, toxic relationships, toxic masculinity – the hashtag list goes on.

And no, they were not smart as they say they are.

NO! They were greedy; for money, for power, for fame and beauty.

NO! They were not kind and genuine.

NO! They simply were not human!

I don’t know what there is more to come,

But I really wish you could’ve seen it all, heard it all and smelt it all.

Because the world is beautiful place,

It’s just that the people here…

Want the world to disappear.
